DTSF 2018 Introduction
Hello, my name is Orrin Wilson. I am a rising Junior and a Computer Science major at Gettysburg College. I have two siblings and a cute dog. Currently I am on the track team here at the college. I am open to new experiences and enjoy learning new skills to strengthen my knowledge as a programmer. While I have a couple ideas of what I would like to pursue as a career, I am still undecided. Because of this, I am still trying new things to help me decide what I want to do in life.
For the Digital Technology Summer Fellows Program, I have decided to create a virtual tour of Gettysburg College using Unity3D and the Vive VR (Virtual Reality) equipment. The goal of this project is to provide information to prospective students who have an interest in Gettysburg College and are interested in learning more. The tour will provide both historical and administrative information so the student will get all the information they need from this program. The user will also be able to experience a scenic virtual tour of the college from any VR set worldwide. This is beneficial for students who live too far from the college to enjoy a personal tour. Most importantly, this project will help enhance my skills as a programmer as well as become a useful asset to future classes of Gettysburg College.
